Since starting out in the film and television industry I have been lucky enough to travel the world filming amazing people and cultures in stunning locations; from Havana carnival in Cuba, to camel racing in Morocco and everything in-between.
To date I've created films for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky which have been shown in the UK and worldwide.
I have experience across a range of genres including documentary, current affairs, factual, specialist factual and factual entertainment for all major UK broadcasters. Having worked my way up from set runner, I am now a Series Producer/Director taking projects from early stage development right through to delivering the finished, onlined, project.
My passion is for engaging and compassionate film making, helping to tell stories that are relatable and thought provoking to the audience whether they be sensitive in subject or witty and playful.
In 2018 I was BAFTA nominated for directing 'No more boys and girls', a documentary looking at outdated gender rules and how we can change them.
I am an experienced camera operator across a host of cameras, with a degree in Film (theory and practice), and always keep on top of changing technologies.
This includes being certified for drone filming by the CAA, an extra string to the bow!
I am equally happy directing crews, both single and multi camera, and have a roster of top DOPs, camera operators and sound recordists I work with on a regular basis.
I relish taking my films through the edit and always look to film with editing in mind. Again, I have a roster of great editors I work with on a regular basis.
Whilst I mostly work within broadcast television I am also available for corporate and commercial work and have undertaken a number of projects in recent years. This includes making films with big brands such as Red Bull, and major sports stars such as Max Verstappen and the England Rugby team, creating content for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and working with smaller organisations such as crowd funding videos for start up companies, and marketing videos for secondary schools.
I also take responsibility for the publicity stills on most productions I undertake, a portfolio can be provided on request.
Please do get in touch to discuss any projects further.

Samuel is fantastic with contributors and presenters alike, drawing out the perfect sync and creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable enough to show who they are.
He has a great eye and makes things look beautiful, while never missing a beat of what you need for story development. He's calm, organised and creative in the edit and very good at building and supporting a team. Working with him is a rewarding and enjoyable experience
From our first meeting, I was impressed with Samuel, his attitude and his obvious love for television. I admired his patience and commitment to what he wanted to do. Samuel is not only interested in the visual aspects of programme making but great story telling is clearly very close to his heart as well. He is hard working, bright and not only a team player but a strong team leader as well.
Samuel is very talented both technically and creatively. I have worked with him on several projects - none of them by any stretch of the imagination easy and he has never failed to deliver.
Good with talent, he is a real contributor in terms of team work and has a very clear idea of what will best sell, and tell, a story.
I really can't recommend him highly enough.
Working with Samuel on the video for our school was a great experience. He was reliable, flexible and extremely creative.
We've worked with Samuel on a number of occasions and his work is nothing short of excellent. His creativity, execution and delivery are first class as is his professionalism. We've also hugely benefited from his expertise and experience when exploring ideas for content too. That's why we always reach out to discuss projects with CheekyScamp before anyone else.
Get in touch to talk about a project, of any size, and we can take things from there.
